Murwillumbah Aerodrome (YMUR)
Located in the heart of the Tweed Valley, Murwillumbah Airfield, officially named Bob Whittle Murwillumbah Airfield (YMUR), Serves as a vital hub for general aviation, agricultural operations, and recreational flying.
Managed by the Tweed Shire Council and affectionately supported by the historic Murwillumbah Aero Club, this 1,045-meter grass-and-shale strip offers pilots an idyllic approach over the Northern Rivers region, just a stone's throw from the Gold Coast airspace.
Named in honor of a legendary local World War II Spitfire pilot, the airfield beautifully combines rich aviation heritage with a welcoming community atmosphere for local flyers and visiting aviation enthusiasts alike.

AT YMUR
NOTE: After rain, especially heavy rain the Runway at YMUR becomes boggy in places. It is highly recommended that all aircraft stick to the centreline of the runway on the hard shale, and maintain speed when at the ends of the runway to avoid bogging.
It is not recommended to use the Taxiways after rain.
OBSTACLES: There is a industrial large shed at the northern end of the runway.
NOISE: Avoid flying over Murwillumbah Hospital.
